Welcome to Colby Mountain Trailfest
A grassroots trail running celebration put together by Butte County Sheriff Search & Rescue, Chico Velo TrailWorks, and Bidwell Run Club. We are bringing together runners, trail advocates, and community members to experience and support the incredible Colby Mountain trail system.
This event was created with a simple mission: give back to the trails that bring our community together. Every mile run helps support the ongoing development, maintenance, and stewardship of the Colby Mountain trails. Net proceeds from the race will be split equally and directly benefit Chico Velo Trailworks, Butte County Sheriff Search and Rescue, and Bidwell Run Club -helping ensure these trails remain safe, sustainable, and accessible for runners, hikers, and cyclists for years to come.
Colby Mountain Trailfest blends endurance sport with environmental stewardship, creating an event where participants are not only racing through beautiful terrain but also investing in the future of the trails themselves. By participating, you become part of a growing movement focused on community, sustainability, and responsible trail use.

5k (3.1 miles / 100ft) 90%Fire Road, 10% single track
12k (7.5 miles / 700ft of climbing) 60% fire road 40% single track
24k (15.5 miles / 1900ft of climbing) 25% fire road, 75% Single Track
Race Swag: Each registered runner gets a T-shirt, Medal, and a HydraPak re-usable cup
Awards: Top 3 men & women, Top 3 for age group.

Lodging
Lodging in the area is very limited, so make sure to make plans ahead of time. The cabins sleep multiple people, so consider bringing your friends and sharing a space!

Support Colby Mountain Trailfest
Colby Mountain Trailfest is more than a trail race. It's an opportunity to introduce runners and outdoor enthusiasts to one of the region's newest trail systems while supporting the organizations that help make outdoor recreation possible.
Proceeds from Trailfest benefit:
🏃 Bidwell Run Club – building an inclusive running community through group runs, volunteer projects, scholarships, and outdoor programming.
🚑 Butte County Search & Rescue – providing highly trained volunteer emergency response services that help keep outdoor recreation safe throughout our region.
🛠 Chico Velo Trailworks – maintaining, improving, and expanding local trail systems through trail stewardship, volunteer work, and advocacy.
